Hiatus

I've mentioned have epiphanies where I have realized that it's time for me to lose weight or ramp up my savings or pay down debt faster. But then when something punches you right in the gut, you really pay attention.

My grandmother passed away Friday night.

It was expected. And honestly? I'm glad she's no longer suffering. But my life is on hold right now. That's what death does. Death puts life on hold.

Thanks to my emergency fund and a credit card, I have booked a flight to my hometown this week to be with my family. I will return home next week and get back to "normal" in my everyday life.

To anyone who may read this: I thank you now for any prayers and/or kind words your share. And if you still have your grandparents, call them. Visit them. Hug them.

  2. I'm really sorry to hear about your grandmother. It's always sobering how death can lead to a mind shift or change in perspective. There's no insurance that will keep us from death but we can try to live our best lives and be ready when the time comes.
