Waking up this morning at 8 felt very scandalous - I felt like I was playing hooky from work. And then I remembered that I'm getting paid to take this vacation. So I figured I owed it to myself to make these paid days fun.
I did a 30-minute workout as soon as I got out of bed this morning. The workout left me feeling invigorated, and it was a beautiful morning, so I went to our neighborhood pool for a few hours. Did a little swimming and mostly soaked up the sunshine while reading a magazine. Afterwards, we ran a few errands and spent the rest of the day with my in-laws. We had dinner, sat around and talked, went out for ice cream, and just relaxed. We enjoyed the time together so much that my in-laws are coming over tomorrow to go swimming and have dinner. And knowing my mother-in-law, we'll probably go thrift-store shopping together.
All we spent today was $22.25 for gas in the car. My father-in-law treated us to the ice cream.
