Now that it’s fall, our budgeting will get more interesting. Hubby’s birthday is in October, our dating anniversary is in October, and my birthday is in November. As much as I should think about the holiday season, I simply don't want to. But this will be the first fall where I’m actually going to BUDGET for these activities. What a concept.
Here’s my budget for all the miscellaneous things going on in October.
Hair appointment for me: $25
Birthday dinner for Hubby: $20
Anniversary dinner-and-movie: $40
Overnight trip out of town: $40
Medicine for me: $25
Oil change: $50
I’m also planning on scheduling the GRE test ($160 - ouch!). We also may be (finally!) getting a place of our own. October is going to throw us some curve balls, but I think we're well prepared.
Do you have anything exciting going on in October?
Where do you like to go for dinner that's $20? Eating out is one area where I have a really hard time being frugal...I must be missing something! (Good for you, though.) Also, happy anniversary!!!!
ReplyDeleteThere is a locally-owned Italian restaurant (that is so amazing and so delicious!) that gives you a free meal on your birthday. Hubby eats for free, I pay for myself, and we always order water when we go out to eat. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the anniversary love. We've been together for a total of five years this month. Holy cow!
I'm flying out to California later on this month--definitely drafting up a budget beforehand!
ReplyDeleteVery smart! It's amazing how something as simple as a budget (once you get the hang of it and commit to it) can help out in such a big way. If I had budgeting during our college years, SVB, I wonder how much money I would have saved, haha.
ReplyDeleteI know. Same here.
