It has been a week of decluttering progress in Saving Her Life's realm of reality. My husband has looked on in fear as I have sorted through CDs, photographs, journals, and other miscellaneous possessions. However, his fear has turned into relief when I tallied what I have eliminated from our life.
During this week alone, I have removed the following from our possessions:
2 packages of hair clips (sent to my mom)
1 pair of earrings (sent to my mom)
1 picture frame (sent to my mom)
6 photo albums (donated to thrift store)
1 unused scrapbook (donated to thrift store)
2 unused journals (donated to thrift store)
1 picture frame (donated to thrift store)
24 CDs (chucked – they were old mix CDs from high school)
And the grand finale in decluttering: I removed over 300 photographs from our collection. Most of these photos were doubles that I didn’t deem necessary to keep more than one. I have a pile of photos to send to various family members, as well as a shoebox of photos to scan. Once they photos are scanned, I will pass along the hard copies to interested individuals. I still don’t know what type of organization system to implement for our photographs, but the box that holds them all is a lot more calm and organized.
Does anyone else get a high from decluttering? I love it.
I love de cluttering! I've been doing it for what seems like forever and still feel like I have too much stuff!
ReplyDeleteI used to have a side business as an organiser/clutter clearer, but here in the UK it's not as big as in the US.
As geeky as this sounds, decluttering the lives of others actually sounds fun!
